Shift for Playdate

A new take on our popular classic, Shift for iOS!.

Built with the unique features and casual nature of The Playdate in mind, your task is to shift tiles around the 4x4 grid to get an entire row or column of tiles to be the same color. Tiles will move until they are no longer able, be that by hitting the edge of the grid, or another tile.

Tiles can be shifted left, right, up and down. When a match is made, the tiles in the match are removed from the grid and the entire grid shifts in the direction you moved to make the match. New tiles are then added to the grid.

Features
  • The same great sound effects you remember from the original.
  • No timer! We based this on "The Calm" version of Shift for iOS.
  • Use the crank to swap colors from tile to tile.
  • Shake the device when you're down to half a bar of energy to get one-last-chance.
  • Dark mode!
  • Local high scores.

Do you live in Loudoun County, VA? Do your kids play sports? Does scrolling forever through the list of fields on the county's website to find out if practice has been rained out (only to see that it hasn't been updated yet) annoy you?

Ah, colors. So great with all their shades. Red to orange to yellow to green and so on. The rainbow!

All you need to do is put three or more reds next to each other and you've made orange. Easy! Do the same thing with orange to make yellow. Much too easy.

But wait, now there are more colors that you need to place. And you need to place them strategically so they can make green, blue and purple! And then you have to be clever enough to match three purples!

Not quite so easy, now.

You'll have to think ahead, otherwise the board is going to fill up and it'll be sad songs and game over for you, my friend. But you're smart as a whip, and you'll soon be chaining red to orange to yellow to green like you were born into it.

No ads, no in-app purchases, no chicanery. Just a fun puzzle game.

Feed yourself some rainbows!

Thirty seconds. It's really not a lot of time. You could take the trash out in a half a minute ... maybe heat up last night's leftovers in the microwave while tossing some kibbles in the cat's bowl. But those things are boring.

Shift is not boring. And Shift, if you aren't any good at it, only takes thirty seconds to play. And lets face it, you're just not going to be any good at it. I mean, maybe with time and dedication? Who knows, you could get the knack of energy transfers and making star matches to cause meltdowns to gain a few seconds back on the clock at the absolute last possible moment ... but lets be honest with each other; do you REALLY think you have the manual dexterity, the sheer force of will, the temerity to persevere and NOT FOLD UNDER THE PRESSURE!?

Of course you do. And so, The Frantic awaits you. And so does The Calm, just in case it turns out the pressure is too great.
